Let’s Make a Plan

It’s 2024. First days. Already we’ve made our resolutions (that we’re probably going to break). So, offering a solution to that, I want to help you keep your writing and career resolutions intact for 2024. (The weight loss, gym membership, and painting classes are on your own.)

As you know, I started Killer Nashville International Writers’ Conference in 2006 to help beginning writers find agents and publishers and increase the quality of their work, as well as helping established authors increase their market reach. Our success stories have been tremendous, but I want to jumpstart this even further. The next step, one of my goals for 2024, is to help you daily (weekdays only) to move forward in your career wherever you are. This can be your best year ever. You can keep this career resolution if you work with me daily.

Over the course of the next year, I’ll be talking about writing, publishing, ancillary markets, marketing, publicity, and more. I’ll give you the steps here (in this blog) to take your writing to your next level. I hope you’ll join me daily for inspiration and insights from my experience of my own multi-decade career in publishing, stage, film, and television, and also from my continued work with some of the biggest names in the publishing and entertainment business.

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to sign up for my “Twelve Habits for Successful Writers”. It will take you through a weekly series to develop a business plan that we’re going to be using throughout the year.

If you know my story, you know that I am an example of how someone can achieve their dreams starting with basically nothing and no contacts. You can do it, too. There is no reason not to. Join me daily as we travel this road together and please send me your success stories, thoughts, questions, and insights. We’re all in this together.

If you want more insights and tips, be sure to sign up for my newsletter.

I hope you’ll join me again here tomorrow.
