Believe in Yourself: Unlocking Your True Potential

You must believe in yourself and have faith that you can do what you dream.

People are attracted to those with self-confidence, including agents, editors, publishers, and even readers.

Consider why you don’t believe in yourself and feel you cannot achieve your dreams.

The inferiority complex—comparing yourself to others—comes from the abiding feelings (often without rationality) that you are less than.

Instead, start thinking about your uniqueness and what you offer. Skills can be learned, but your inherent being cannot be transferred to anyone but you.

Our beliefs take us to the top or relegate us to the bottom.

Stay in the 'black zone ', which symbolizes a positive and productive mindset. Don’t let yourself slip into the 'red zone ', which represents a negative and unproductive state of mind.

When negativity hits, counter it with a positive punch. Take control of your thoughts. Get out a piece of paper with two columns and make a list.

Don’t focus on obstacles like lack of time or resources; instead, look for solutions such as time management techniques or alternative resources.

Itemize your abilities. List them. List your strengths. Now, add ten percent to stretch yourself. Use those as your goals. This will make you feel confident and capable.

Don’t compare yourself to others. They are on their journey. You are on yours.

Mentally, see yourself as succeeding.

Having faith in yourself, even when no one else does, will help you accomplish all sorts of wonderful things. I know because I’ve walked the walk. If you’re feeling down, lift yourself up. I believe in you. You should believe in yourself, as well. Remember, you have the potential to achieve your dreams.
